How our meters work

Scary and sad are shown as Low, Medium or High. Where we have reviewed a title ourselves, the meter says so and is solid. Everything else is marked (est.): an automatic estimate from the US age rating, genres and plot themes. Estimates are a starting point, not a verdict, and they can be wrong in both directions.

Suggested starting age is a rule of thumb combining the two meters. Every child is different: you know yours best, and a quick preview is the surest check.
